The conference will take place at the new FHNW Campus Dreispitz, opened in autumn 2026 in one of Basel’s most dynamic urban districts. Designed by E2A Piet Eckert and Wim Eckert Architekten, the building brings together the FHNW School of Business and School of Computer Science in a setting conceived around exchange, collaboration and contemporary forms of learning and work.

Architecturally, the campus is deliberately restrained rather than monumental. Its clear structure, generous interior spaces and carefully designed learning and meeting environments give the building a strong presence while keeping the focus on the people who use it.

Modern rooms, open work areas, lounges, a restaurant and two large terraces create a great setting for a conference — formal enough for focused discussion, but with ample space for informal encounters between sessions.

The building also sits within a much larger architectural story. Dreispitz is a former warehouse and industrial district that has been transformed into a lively quarter for education, art, design and creative industries. Its mix of converted industrial structures and contemporary architecture has made it one of Basel’s most interesting areas of urban development.

This makes the campus a fitting venue in Basel, a city with a strong relationship to architecture, art and design. The historic Old Town and its medieval streets sit alongside buildings by architects including Herzog & de Meuron, Renzo Piano, Mario Botta and Christ & Gantenbein. Basel is also one of Switzerland’s major cultural centres, with an exceptional concentration of museums and galleries, all set around the Rhine and within a remarkably compact city.
